Hiking Trip to Parc Régional des Sept-Chutes

After an unexpected pause in the activities due to COVID-19, CEISME organised its annual hiking trip during the summer. This time we visited Regional Park of Seven Falls, which a little less than two hours drive away from downtown Montreal.

A total of 42 participants joined us on the hiking trip.  The regional park has several trails. While the majority of the participants took the Mont Brassard trail, the rest took the chance to explore other trails as well.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, participants proceeded on to their preferred trails in smaller groups.

The trails are categorised under the intermediate difficulty level by the park authorities. However, the rains on the last few days posed an additional challenge to the hikers. Passing through the rough slippery patches of trail,  we reached Lac Guy. After this checkpoint, most of us met at Balcon du Nord  viewpoint, on the Mont Brassard trail. It’s a nice point to enjoy the splendid view of the Lac Remi. Hence, most of us took this opportunity to enjoy the view and grab our lunch.  After a decent break, we headed towards other viewpoints and then finally towards our assembly point. The participants were provided with snacks and refreshments at the end of the hike.

Ongoing COVID-19 pandemic brought a drastic change in our lifestyles. After a long period of working virtually and living under the restrictions, we believe that this trip provided participants with a chance to relax and rejuvenate themselves amidst the nature.  We were lucky to be blessed by a nice weather and the trip was a success.
